I think Jasmine Crockett made a mistake to leave her US House seat in order to pursue the Senate. Some of this is primarily hindsight, though. I wanted to be angry at her, but I kinda get it.
The field of candidates looking to replace her aren't super strong. The district is quite blue, so it's not likely to fall to a Republican, but the seat may end up being weaker in any case.
And she faces another strong candidate, James Talarico, for the US Senate race. Their race is now so close, it could lead to a runoff, and it could end up leaning towards Talarico, who has become very popular recently thanks to censorship controversy.
Crockett couldn't have seen this coming, I'm sure. And it would suck to see her lose her seat in the federal government over all of this, leaving her House seat weaker than before.
It sucks that it's going this way tbh. They're both very strong candidates. But only one of them can continue to Congress at this point.
But also, if Talarico loses, he will be out of the Texas House after this term, as he did not file for re-election there in order to run for US Senate.
I know how I'm voting. But the outcome will be bittersweet either way.
