#OTD 13 February 1840, Rebecca Ann Maynard was born in Virginia. Her parents, Evan Maynard and Judith Ragland, were from Halifax County, so that's her likely birthplace. The family moved to Weakley County, Tennessee, when she was a child. At the age of 15, Rebecca married Thomas Jefferson Alexander, a farmer. The couple had 12 children, including two sets of twins. My great-grandmother, Mollydine, and her twin, Josephine, were born in 1873. Finis and Fonzie followed in 1878. Rebecca lived to the age of 91.
