More #Heart geodes seen in Tucson at gem and mineral shows this last week. They are all filled with the purple amethyst crystals, a form of quartz. If you like these specimens, check back later today. They are posted fresh for #ValentinesDay #Amethyst #Geode #Tucson

Large amethyst geode cut in half to show the cavity is filled with dark purple crystals. The outer edge of the matrix stone is gray and the left side also has a blob or patch of green malachite intruding into the heart-shaped interior. These are large crystals about 3/4” to 1” wide and come to the classic points. Marcus Budil gallery.

Same location as previous photo this geode is a bit wider and more distinctly heart-shaped. About 36” wide and 28” tall. This geode also has some green malachite on the left at the edges it’s not the same specimen. There were about 19 enormous geodes in this part of the gallery, all on heavy black stands with black decorative rope defining the area.

Another of the heart-shape geodes, this one is taller pocket
@much more vertical. The matrix at the edge is thicker than others and has more bands of color definite yellow, tan, green. A lot of contrast in the edge. Super dark in integrity.
