I talked about #PC but there's also a #phone to use on a daily basis.
Even there I managed to yeet casual #Android out of it and I installed a custom OS.
I decided to go with #LineageOS because it doesn't have much bloatware and it (almost) looks like typical Android.
I may have shown a picture with my phone on my personal profile @gruby but I need to do video where I share my thoughts about using custom OS on my phone.
The only stop left is having a laptop with #Linux installed on it.

@gryzoniufka The rabbit hole that is gentoo awaits! Totally agree with arch tho. Cachyos has a minimal install that dumps you into tts, but with a lot of the custom stuff I would have done already. So I went that route with my current install and it's been great!

Try #EndevourOS. #EOS is the polished avatar of #Arch.

@Archie1 I actually use #EndeavourOS with KDE Plasma on a daily basis and I can recommend it. It almost looks like Windoze but as far as I know, there has been a theme that literally makes your Linux look like it. I don't know if it still exists.

@Xionical I have EndeavourOS though but I heard of CachyOS - "Arch for newbies". Dunno, haven't tried Cachy yet.

@gryzoniufka EOS is a good one. It's my current recommendation for more computer literate friends wanting to try out Linux. Happy its been good for you!

@Xionical Although, for literal newbies who want to have a stable Linux distro... I would say that #LinuxMint is a good choice.

Awesome choice. I used LineageOS on my phone for about two years before switching to GrapheneOS. I still use it for my tablet and I'm considering installing it on my Switch.

I read that LineageOS can be installed on Nintendo which is both fascinating and funny for me because Nintendo is now known for making it difficult/impossible to make major changes on it.
And tablets... that is difficult but still possible to get a tablet that is supported by LineageOS official installation.
GrapheneOS is basically out of my reach at the moment because I don't have that much money to buy a Pixel phone but I will think about it.

You're right! The tablets that I'm aware of that can run LineageOS are a handful of outdated Samsung tablets.

And that's totally fine. LineageOS is great for sustainability, privacy, and debloating your mobile. I'd say it even has its advantages over GrapheneOS. You can easily use Magisk to run banking apps. I haven't been able to figure out out to do that on GrapheneOS
