I'm in the sandhills but yah. I'm a little concerned about the winds as well. There's not much we can do if the power goes out; the fireplace hasn't been used in years. We'll still be able to cook and shower, though.
This little village tends to get really lucky with our electricity. Everyone around us will be without and we'll be fine. It's unclear why this is, because it makes no sense that this little bump in the road would be special like that, but I'll take it.

I've got people at the beach. I'm significantly more concerned for them because of the flooding potential.

@helplessduck I really really hope that they understand that an offshore storm always pushes water toward the low-lying areas. I worry that some of the off-season beach-facing properties cannot be ready for this. I know most are built up one storey, but these winds are going to be something else.
