@helplessduck oh, I see now. You are right on the line for extra snow. I think Richmond, Virginia gets the most? I'm concerned about the winds. This is a real cyclone, just the snow kind. I don't know how they will cope in the Outer Banks, or at the beach, or how high the winds will get further inland.

You have a plan, if the wind knocks out power? If all is well after the snow, or during, I'd love to see pictures. I guess whiteout conditions are difficult to capture on camera. I suppose you could back into it from your door, and then back inside pretty quickly. Or just your arm or hand. It's freaky to watch part of yourself disappear into a curtain of falling snow.

I'm in the sandhills but yah. I'm a little concerned about the winds as well. There's not much we can do if the power goes out; the fireplace hasn't been used in years. We'll still be able to cook and shower, though.
This little village tends to get really lucky with our electricity. Everyone around us will be without and we'll be fine. It's unclear why this is, because it makes no sense that this little bump in the road would be special like that, but I'll take it.

I've got people at the beach. I'm significantly more concerned for them because of the flooding potential.
