Of those few years, I don't know much more. The only thing she'd easily mention about it was that this part of her life caused a huge religious heartbreak for my grandmother.
When she was younger, Sonia was raised Catholic, and wanted to become a nun. But she said that she had seen too many Catholic clergymen/nuns cooperate with the Nazis during WW2, and so, as a teen, she decided to become a Protestant.
That meant giving up on becoming a nun, and so, she needed a new plan for the future.
