#lazyWeb Friends on macOS, what is your favorite tool for testing your work using a Windows screen reader?
Do you use a Virtual Machine (VM)? If so, what do you use to run it? Do you use an online tool like @AssistivLabs ? Bonus points for free tools
I use Parallels Desktop & it's honestly well worth the investment. But I'm looking for a variety of accessible options to recommend to workshop attendees who don't yet test on Windows & who want a way to start quickly & preferably not costly.
@SaraSoueidan inside an enterprise environment (my former employer’s) we had great success with Azure Virtual Desktops. Cloud-based full Windows 10 PC joined to the enterprise domain and used via the Windows App on Mac. It meant we could do the tricky configuration (installation, audio, default config and keyboard stuff) once. This involved hiring a cloud infrastructure consultant for a week-long project, so it was costly to set up, but once it was running, we had no problems at all and minimal costs. Being able to open it for everyone rather than people needing permission and per-seat pricing was great.
Since I left them, I use AssistivLabs for my own work at the moment.
