For everyone thinking about #editing now, I want to elaborate on something I said in a reply. Because, as a freelance editor, it breaks my heart how much time writers can lose by approaching editing in the wrong order.

Here’s the biggest thing. This applies if you want to polish your #NaNoWriMo draft, or anything else:
Start macro in your first edit. In subsequent passes you can worry about progressively finer details.
