Bwhahaha! (Does anyone smell a bubble, or is it just me?).
In a different world, the issue of software and AI would be dealt with by legislators and courts that understand that all AI training is copying and all AI output is copying. That's the world I might like, but not the world we got.

Neil deGrasse Tyson's StarTalk Podcast - February 28, 2026
"How did we go from digital computers to AI seemingly everywhere? Neil deGrasse Tyson, Chuck Nice, & Gary O’Reilly dive into the mechanics of thinking, how AI got its start, and what deep learning really means with cognitive and computer scientist, Nobel Laureate, and one of the architects of AI, Geoffrey Hinton.
"Hinton explains the fundamental shift from logic-based rule programming to the biological approach: building systems that learn the way a brain does. Learn about the history of computer science that led to the breakthroughs we have today. We break down the structure of artificial neural networks and the meaning of AI buzzwords like “deep learning” really mean. You’ll learn about the layering of data processing and how the first layer of neurons might detect a simple edge, the second a beak, and the third a bird’s head."
Apologies for going overboard with the mentions and hashtags, but this was one deep podcast and there were a lot of topics covered that are relevant to AI:

Look at the rationality of market #economics:
* Core computer components are getting expensive
* Because machine-learning companies have created an increased demand
* Not because the companies are making any money from selling machine-learning apps
* They get their money from venture capital
* But VC knows that they will never make money, and is just speculating on an investment bubble
And that's why used laptops are expensive now.
Stop it, get some HDDs!
I would if all the #AI-shilling #billionare sociopathic #assholes didn't buy up #SSDs and #HardDrives so hard that we're close to 2006 pricing per TB with worse availability than after the 2011 Flooding in Thailand!
The #AIbubble must burst - right now and extra hard!
Before it'll destroy the world!!!
Finnish marine diesel engine manufacturer Wärtsilä now offers its huge ship diesel engines to power US data centres since there's not enough energy production or the transmission lines don't have enough capacity.

#Amazon, #Microsoft, #Nvidia, #Meta, #Google and #Oracle collectively shed more than $1 trillion from their valuations over the past week, according to FactSet data.

I just asked #ChatGPT how it "thinks" the #AIBubble will collapse. I'm looking forward to seeing how accurate the predictions will turn out to be (especially since I basically agree with everything it is saying).
Bookmarking this conference slide my coworker shared for posterity, since either we are about to reach the singularity, or we are walking straight into yet another tech bubble where the majority of people are somehow convinced that the line will keep going up forever, unlike the last 5 times this exact same thing happened.
