For a project I was looking for a #screenreader #accessible soundboard for Windows, where you assign hotkeys to a sound, and they play without bringing another window into focus. I'm surprised nobody has made this, with all of the radio broadcasters in our community. Surely Google is just failing me! #blind #a11y

Ooh the unbridled hatred I feel towards #AdobeAcrobat literally knows no bounds. It keeps putting its Adobe document Cloud for Outlook add-in into my Outlook and Outlook hates it. No matter how many times I remove it it comes back. It makes me want to remove Adobe Acrobat completely. I'm wondering if there'll be any downside to doing so from a #Blind user's perspective?

Richard @tschapajew wird am kommenden Sonntag 01.03.2026 von 9:00-15:00 auf der SAFA in Dillingen/Saarland am Stand von Q21 von ihm entwickelte Lösungen vorführen. Neben akustischen Darstellungen wird er taktile Lösungen zeigen, die auch Sehende begeistern werden!

Hey #blind people, is there any tool for pads (you know, collaboratively editing simple text documents) that’s actually screenreader accessible?

I gather that Hedgedoc and Etherpad are not accessible and at that point my list of self-hostable pad software ends. Is there anything better?

Have just been squashing bugs with chronicle my new AI driven document scanner.

Feature: Added Menu 10 for True Seamless Document Merging (v1.3.0)

- Introduced Menu 10 (Technical Appendix), allowing users to completely disable all metadata, confidence scores, and dates.
- Enhanced "Merge Mode" so that when the appendix is excluded, multi-page documents (like handwritten letters) are stitched together with zero page-boundary interruptions, creating a 100% continuous reading flow.
- Updated README and CHANGELOG to reflect the new 10-menu architecture.

Okay, let's try this again.
Just had to fix a script error with my chronicle script because it wasn't telling me how many pages were being uploaded and it wasn't naming the files correctly, something had broken in the code.
Now that we fix this, I present for anyone's enjoyment who wants to have a bit of a play, Chronicle document extractor.
An AI coded program for people who want to perform optical character recognition or text cleanup for Accessible reading using Google Gemini.
I have put a tonne of features into this program and there are nine different menus but most can be skipped.
It's general public license and for want of better hosting, I have put it on dropbox.
I'd like to know your thoughts if you want to test.
Please look at the read me file in the docs folder, it will explain how to do everything.

One thing I never understood, how is it news worthy of actual news articles when a celebrity wears a dress that just so happens to be shimmering or stick to them like a second skin or any number of dresses which are revealing? Revealing dresses aren't exactly uncommon, what, should I call the local news whenever my girl wears something a little more revealing for fun? I mean, its just, I don't care about any of these celebrities who wear these dresses and post pictures, I of course would care about it if its her of course, but really, a full-blown article about some popular woman wearing a dress that happens to show maybe an inch or 2 of the skin of her cleavage or runs a little low on her waist? Is that really worth a news article? I don't know, just seems pretty strange to me at least celebrity-wise. I mean, I'm also #Blind, but its not like I go out of my way to stare or whatever at random women on a regular basis I have no emotional connection to, so it just doesn't make that much sense to me. Can somebody explain, am I going crazy?

Thinking about jumping on the iOS 26.4 Beta 2 developer train, but I have a few specific accessibility "deal-breakers" I'm worried about. Any fellow VoiceOver users seeing these?
* Eloquence Crashes: I’m getting random speech crashes (about 1–2 times a month) even on the Home Screen. Worried the new "Liquid Glass" UI layers and background processing in this beta will make memory management worse for legacy synthesizers.
* Total Security App Failure: My security system app is currently a "black hole." I can't check or manipulate it with OR without Screen Recognition. Has anyone found that 26.4 improves AI element detection, or is it still a bust?
* Transparency Fixes: In 26.3, I had to toggle "Reduce Transparency" to get my employer’s phone app to render properly. I’ve heard Beta 2 tweaks these layers again—anyone seeing regressions with transparency/contrast settings?
* Database Stability: I do heavy database work in Tap Forms Pro. Concerned about reports of VoiceOver focus-jumping or keyboard lag in record-heavy apps in this build.
Staying on 26.3 for now because I can't risk a full restore (iCloud is full!). Any insights from the beta testers?

Okay, in Final Fantasy 1, I got the quest by the king to save Sarah from Garland, went out into the world map, killed some goblins and wolves thanks to my white and black mages knowing a few spells. Except their mana doesn't restore automatically. So before we all died I carried us back to town. It's still amazing I can even *talk* about this stuff like I've experienced it, because I did!

Using #Codex, I started making it draft an ongoing document explaining the How and Why of the changes and updates it was making through each milestone of a project. This lets me follow along and learn about coding practices rather than just asking for things and having them magically happen. It also adds #AI accountability, because it does inevitably create bugs, and rewrite mistakes, and the #accessible markdown doc is easier to read than a standard change log. #Blind #BlindCoding

Sacaron mod de accesibilidad para Deep Rock Galactic: Survivors. Lee los menús con NVDA, reporta cada tipo de enemigo cuando aparece en pantalla e incorpora un sistema de tonos que indican paredes, depósitos, trampas y cada tipo de enemigo. Al final no era imposible accesibilizar la fórmula de Vampire Survivors como muchos pensamos, este mod tiene sus bugs al ser una versión inicial pero la base está muy bien planteada y todo se siente intuitivo de leer con los sonidos. #accessibility #blind.
