The first Pratchett books that I read were Moving Pictures and The Truth. After that it occured to me that I probably should look into how the books in this series should be read, in which order. A little bit of "research" showed me that Pratchett fans read them either chronologically, the way Pratchett published his books and regardless of which subseries, or they read them thematically in sets.
In my opinion reading by subseries really helps, because this way you'll focus just on a set of books and don't feel overwhelmed or pressured to read all the books successively and finish off the whole series in a short amount of time. I imagine that each time I complete a subseries there will be a sense of accomplishment and then I can move on to the next subseries when the time is right.
