One of my close friends (who also happens to be dying of Parkinson's) pressed this book into my hands Tuesday and implored me to read it. I did. I don't recommend it. It's a diatribe and it is vitriolic. Reading American War (the author's other book) was a different story altogether.
Not for me. I choose broken American liberalism over fascism.

I'm having a minor surgery next week and have some time off, but i also don't have any fiction books on the go. Can i get any recommendations?
I primarily have enjoyed scifi lately but i'm open to other genres. favourite books recently have been The Expanse Series, The Terra Ignota series by Ada Palmer and Leckie's Imperial Radch, i'm also a star wars nerd and have read a lot of the extended universe books.

I finally finished doing the project I was working on with my blog, re-tagging things. I was skimming a lot of posts, and I had to laugh when I realized that in January of both 2025 and 2026, I had posts that were basically, "So I don't make resolutions but I really want to keep track of my reading this year....". Nearly the exact same posts a year apart.
I'm actually doing it this year! So far so good. Helps to finally have a functional analog notebook system. There is an official Read page.

My opinion on "Project Hail Mary" by Andy Weir: The sci-fi story was exciting, original and very interesting.
But: Every third sentence a formula or a fact from a physics, chemistry or biology book – very exhausting. More and more, I felt like asking, is this relevant for the exam.
I found it tiring, but I guess the movie will be more fun.
