Work in progress on the Sea-Addled city map for Monsters of Murka by Action Fiction . It seems as though I have been making many city maps over the last year or so!
Yesterday I rolled up my sleeves and fixed an edge case with bus stop zones in our Transport Map.

Some eagle-eyed mappers had noticed that occasionally these zones were missing or incomplete, and this had been puzzling me for a long time. In the end the fix was a small change to the SQL code that gathers the stops into zones. They are all working now!

I've created two new GRASS addons to facilitate the exchange of raster styles between QGIS and GRASS: r.colors.qml and `r.colors.toqml`.
🎨 r.colors.qml: Apply QGIS QML style files directly to your GRASS rasters.
🔄 r.colors.toqml: Export GRASS color tables and categories back to QML for use in QGIS.

Just “discovered” the Merged Features renderer. What a neat, handy feature! Kudos to whoever came up with that one.
And yes, it’s been around for quite a while already, since around 2021, I believe 😊.
It is just that there is so much to discover in QGIS. But hey, as long as you find it when you actually need it. 🙂
I've put up one of the most ambitious (and lengthy) articles I've written on the Milky Way.
The timing works out well because this year is the 75th anniversary of the detection of the 21 cm line, one of the events that started the Golden Age of galactic cartography.

Completing the #30DayMapChallenge. Topic: raster.
The Rodderberg, located on the opposite side of the Rhine River from the Siebengebirge, is an inactive volcano. Although its last eruption was 250,000 years ago, the crater can still be seen in the landscape today. Here, I used my own procedure to contrast the elevations of the south-east and north-west quarters of a circular window against a standard procedure.

The finished, updated and extended land of Nicea. The new sections are to the far west and east. Seeing the ocean on both sides frames the continent and improves the map more than I would have guessed. The real delight of this map is how well loved the world is by the family that runs their dnd game there, I try to add details from the games and honour the representation of a very special fantasy realm. #dndmap #cartography #rpg #dnd #maps
