The No More Loopholes Act – a bill designed to address Canada’s arming of genocide and war crimes – was just voted down in the Canadian House of Commons.
Our organizing did force 15 Liberal MPs to break rank and join the NDP in voting YES on the No More Loopholes Act – and 15 other Liberals abstained, refusing to vote with Carney. Many of these votes were only flipped because of persistent local organizing.

These are the latest targets in the illegal US-Israeli assault on Iran. These are not military bases, they are the civilian infrastructure that keeps ordinary people alive. More than 1,300 people have already been killed since the attacks began, and nearly 6,700 civilian sites have reportedly been struck.
This war has nothing to do with democracy — or even nuclear weapons. Canada must have no part in it and Prime Minister Carney must use every ounce of his influence to put a stop to it.

Danielle Smith believes that AISH is too "overly generous", and that disabled people on fixed government support, making the equivalent of working for under $10/hour, have the luxury of moving across provinces (I wish I could afford to move ilke that!) "looking for the highest payout" without even considering the higher cost-of-living in supposed target provinces (because apparently disabled people are as bad at math as she is?).
While she hands out $2 billion in subsidies to oIl corporations.
'On Thursday, Smith said her government wants to ensure social supports aren't "overly generous" so people don't move to Alberta to take advantage of them. She said the province doesn't want to inadvertently create an incentive for people to move to Alberta to seek out the highest benefit.'

It would be a tragic, horrible irony if the way we got to a renewable energy future is by oil soaked countries and their genocidal, idiotic leaders and hangers on destroying themselves in a final desperate act to secure the entire thing for themselves.
But that would also be entirely human.
We need to have a long and honest talk with our Albertan and other Canadian oil friends and convince them that we need to get out of this sphere as fast as possible for our own safety.
