Esta cerámica de la provincia de Henan comenzó imitando a la cerámica Xing durante la dinastía Tang (618-690, 705-907), pero resultando más áspera y con esmaltado amarillento claro o verdoso. Posteriormente, tendrían un parecido superficial, pero la cerámica Xing se calentaba a mayor temperatura y se le añadía un engobe blanco que las aclaraba.
