Bin grad über Peter Schaars Post gestolpert - das Thema algorithmische Verstärkung auf X ist echt krass geworden. Und es zeigt mal wieder: Dezentrale Plattformen wie Mastodon sind kein Nerd-Hobby, sondern echte Alternativen!
Was mich hier begeistert:
- Kein Algorithmus der mir vorschreibt was "wichtig" ist
- Die Community moderiert sich selbst
- Open Source = volle Transparenz
- Meine Daten bleiben auf Servern die ICH mir aussuche
Klar, die UX ist manchmal... speziell. 😅 Und die dezentrale Struktur verwirrt am Anfang. Aber genau das macht's auch interessant!
Wie seht ihr das? Mastodon als echte Alternative oder doch nur Nische?

A few months ago, a Canadian judge got her #amazon , #google , #uber, credit cards accounts, etc. closed.
She was doing her job investigating war crimes made in Afghanistan, including by the #USA
That offended Americans. They decided to close all her accounts, which they have control over.
I'm expecting this behavior to become more and more common.

A i tak wszyscy tam siedzą. A tymczasem powinien być zakaz korzystania z VLOP przez instytucje państwowe i powiązane w jakikolwiek sposób ze skarbem państwa. I noticed your communication relies exclusively on US-based platforms (Facebook, Instagram, YouTube). Given EU data protection regulations and digital sovereignty, this is concerning. These platforms harvest metadata for the US, conflicting with GDPR.
Could you please clarify why your department does not yet have an official presence on the EU's own federated platform, Mastodon (europa.eu), or other decentralized alternatives like PeerTube?
I believe that promoting European job opportunities through American platforms contradicts the EU's commitment to data autonomy. I strongly encourage you to consider migrating your communication channels to more democratic, privacy-compliant solutions hosted on European servers.

We tested our "EU Infrastructure Score" from https://www.cloudinfraatlas.eu/ and were able to identify that we were still using Let's Encrypt for our SSL/TLS Certificate. @kumi changed that in no time, now we are happy to report that we have a score of 100%.

Die #DocumentFoundation kritisiert das als "strukturelle Voreingenommenheit" und fordert offene Standards wie #ODF. Denn wer #LibreOffice nutzt, muss erstmal basteln.
