#UNIX system administrator since 1996, when I started working as a webmaster in an NCR MP-RAS system.
Born and raised in Madrid (Spain), lived in Cambridge (UK) and moved to #Catalonia in 2005 where I live with my three sons.

As volume of pollinators is declining fast globally, every little counts.
Funded by EU, City of #Helsinki and City Transport have started fabulous initiatives and experiments to increase the diversity and pollinator friendliness of the cityscape: green roofs, a sprayed on green wall, a pollinator roof with bumblebee nests for a metro station and flowering bustop made of recycled construction waist.
NSF’s canceled grants heavily affect women, Hispanic and Black PIs although they represent <34% of PIs in active grants.

Die 80er habe ich als "Sp*st" verlebt. Egal welche Behinderung man hatte, man war der "Sp*st". Die Hälfte der 90er war ich gezwungen, in einer Behinderteneinrichtung zu verbringen. Als ich dort weg war, lernte ich Behördenterror kennen, auf den mich keiner vorbereitet hatte. Vorgesehen war, für immer in Sp*st*häusern zu "leben".
It’s strange, isn’t it? Disabled people are seen as both “inspiring” and “pitiful” by the same society. Two extreme reactions, yet both rooted in the same issue: ableism.

Trump on Wednesday revoked a 60-yr-old #ExecutiveOrder banning #discrimination in #hiring practices in the federal govt, his latest action aimed at gutting #diversity, #equity & #inclusion initiatives.
His order, which the WH called “the most important federal #CivilRights measure in decades,” [said without irony] revokes ExecutiveOrder 11246 signed by President Lyndon B. Johnson in 1965.
