Since I already create and sell #merch (t-shirts, hoodies, mugs, etc) for a living,
if I do create a #mastodon instance, here's how I would deal with the financial cost:
- Accept donations for support
- Promote and sell merch
- Possibly custom merch/design inquiries
- etc.
Currently, most of my revenues come from #amazon as an amazon seller.
This business model would absolutely make sense to me, because on the long term, I think I will need to get off Big American Tech, including Amazon.
So if I can build a #community that is okay with that, then I should be good.
As an online #entrepreneur , I have to adapt to the changing world.
