Balling up this #handspun #wool #yarn on me nostepinne. Think I'm going to make myself #crochet something...🤔 #FiberArts
Because I mentioned it earlier and because it's Friday and the world could use some sassy warmth, here's the Calcifer I knit a few years ago for a friend. He's made from 100% angora (rabbit, not goat) yarn. I couldn't find the right colors so I got skeins of white and dyed them with Jacquard acid dyes, just like I did today. He's also stuffed with combed wool instead plastic (poly-fill). He's also squishy and soft and just a general delight. #knitting #FiberArts
Work in progress
(oui j'ai toujours pas fini celui de février mais chuuuuut )

Am I drafting a pattern despite the fact that I have an unfinished project sitting in a hoop and an unfinished patch waiting for its edges sitting in my floss box?
Maybe?

Finished my first little project, it's a little wonky but my partner loves it all the same ❤️
For all interested in #FiberArts and especially #knitting and #spinning : today's found at the museum!
Picture of spindle whorls, Neolithic period (between - 5800 et - 2500) in middle-eastern France.
The technique, if I consider the drawing on the right side of the picture, does not seem to have changed a lot: a stick, a weight at its bottom and fiber that two hands are spinning.
The 4 pieces on the left are from stone or ceramic. They were found in Barbirey-sur-Ouche or at the lake of Chalain.
Thinking about this as I crochet a (badly edited) pattern for a trademarked character that has in the pattern notes (but not the purchase page) that the purchaser may not sell what they make from it.
I mean, yeah, they can't sell it because it's trademarked, not because the pattern writer said so.

Crocheted cookies-- I'm sending a batch of these to my dad in a few weeks! #crochet #fiberarts
Planning my next project - I had 3 different yarns in mind with general ideas what to turn them into, but so far not really decided on the pattern.
When shuffling through the boxes of handspun yarn I found some 3ply dyed on a grey base yarn - 2 skeins, in total about 800 m
I picked https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/s11175-loucinda-shirt - but it's going to be a slipover, not a warm weather garment. And as my gauge is 22 instead of 26 sts, I work size S to get an L
Let's make a batt in one minute! 😅
Do you want to design a cross-stitch pattern? This website is neat.
Now to try to figure out how to print this. If it works it could be fun to make different species.
I think I'd like to see how small I can make the patterns. Since I am very lazy and won't complete a big complex project.
There are also sites that will convert photos, but the results look like waaaay too much work to really make.
I’ve thought about my Fiber Goals for 2026 - not resolutions, more like intention-setting.
Aim for at least 5-10 minutes of fiberarts per day - a small, approachable daily goal. Finish one major project all the way from spinning through knitting. Use the blending board and/or hand carders for at least one project. Make at least 12 of the Good Tidings Advent cones (so they can be used for 12 days even if not all 24 are done). (1/2)
Holy f*€k - I did a Thing!
I inherited a part ball of variegated yarn - which I dislike using because I feel it's disorganized, chaotic and messy looking. But I've seen this thing done online and decided to spend a day screwing around and tried it. It bloody worked. (Eventually) I'm amazed. A combination of programming and sorcery.

Hi! I live in Nebraska.
According to
https://native-land.ca/
I live on unsurrendered
Očhéthi Šakówiŋ
and
Pâri (Pawnee) land.
Currently unemployed, but hey, if you know of some ArcGIS or XML work where I live @ me.
If you are considering College / University in Nebraska: DM me so I can give you some details you won't get on tours.
I got my BA in Anthropology and came to the conclusion Anthropology is a colonialist pile of shit (You could totally decolonize Anthropology, but my classes never talked about that. It was just the white cishet allosexual abled patriarchy in the classes I took)
Fan of
#Earthbound or #Suikoden a lot of #AtelierSeries and #StoryOfSeasons games. Big
fan, but lately I am bad at playing games!
I also like #Crochet #Fiberarts and I'm getting into #Knitting and #CrossStitch lately! I like reading #Books and #Webcomics
(especially #YoungAdult )
I'm a big #Podcast fan, but I usually talk about that elsewhere!
Me defiendo bastante bien.
I have like 4-5 fediverse accounts, but lately don't have the energy for all of them, so I'm mainly on here, Pixelfed, and Booktoot.
I Boost a lot of pictures of Cats (and sometimes dogs) so if you don't like that, either turn off my ability to boost or mute those keywords.
I'm really shy so please interact (by posting/replying) before following!
Hi!
I'm Jude /
Either is fine.
I've published fiction (and am still trying to) under the name Rae A. Shell, but I will probably get confused if you call me that lol.

fan too. #HadesGame is one of my special interests. I'm a big fan of #TWEWY / #NEOTWEWY but we know that will never get a sequel
Very much looking forward to #EiyudenChronicle so when rising (or the main game) comes out I probably won't shut up about it! That's what timed mutes are for lol.
I like getting sad listening to PS2 music
If you see me mutter about Hymmnos / Ar Tonelico or Shadow Hearts, you know why!

More socks (I hope my daughter likes them because they are for her)
The pattern I'm basing this on is called "Fairy Maiden", but i think it looks like little stacked owls 🦉 (I'm mostly just taking the pattern stitch, the rest is how I construct socks all the time).
I'm getting on with my planning what large project to tackle next, but not yet there, so I'm keeping myself occupied with small ones.
My 81 year old mother texted me today to ask if I had any yarn in my stash I'm not planning to use anytime soon. This was a little unusual because she mostly sews and quilts, she hasn't knitted regularly in years. I asked her what she needed yarn for and she said "I found a great pattern for an #IceOut hat and I'm going to start making them to give out at church."
The republic survives, for now.
