A lot of games are trying to replicate very expansionist core loops, be it Minecraft's, Factorio's and so on, which see the player as a force acting on the environment / ecosystem, not working together with it.
Why not change it?

Does anyone have any good sources of information or courses (even paid but not astronomical plz) about conceptual game design/game theory, in terms of making rewarding systems of engagement?
This is actually to do with a wider use than specifically video games, but still, approaching things like a video game I think is still best. Reblogs appreciated!
