Took a trip to #london this week, and told myself that I'd use the time on the plane to work on an #android app to transcribe #maltese to English (probably using a Google cloud API since on device or #gemini stuff seems to lack a streaming interface, and native transcription tools pretend #malta doesn't exist).

Instead I watched movies, read #mastodon , and plowed through a few books.

Sort of feeling bad about it, but also kinda enjoying consuming rather than creating for a while.

This should be obvious for everyone by now, but if you're not from US you must assume that all your use of US AI services (#ChatGPT, #Claude, #Gemini etc) is fed directly to US intelligence services.

Just got this output in #Google #Gemini CLI... many of these CLI AI tools assume bash and fail miserably in other circumstances.

PS: Trying out Gemini 3.1 Pro as I have some months for free for it. It's okayish. But I am guessing I would be better off if using *nix/bash.
