It's a must have!
I can remember many failures in js world attributed to date usage. So much pain... Made me hate js almost instantly when I learned of date. 😅
Now safari is left to fix. 🫠

So, I've been thinking of expanding my game dev vocabulary. I'm pretty good at Javascript and Lua and know a bit of C (but don't like it much). But I'm looking for a language/system that will run on/compile to web, desktop, and preferably #Playdate as well. What do you recommend?

They’re are revisiting protocols in @TC39! Could be very powerful and make more composition based patterns viable.
It’s not really like TypeScript interfaces but more like Swift’s implementation, all built on the mysterious internal Symbol. It’s kind of like the syntax sugar for classes but for the Symbol logic that’s used a lot under the hood in JavaScript.
You create a protocol and apply it to classes or objects then those things can share implemented features.

Today, the #Temporal API in #JavaScript finally move to a Stage 4 Propsal, meaning it is "complete" and vendors can implement it. Since I crashed my server OS, I have to move. Since my last developments, PHP got upgrades as well as CodeIgniter did. Of course, as always in web development, both bring breaking changes I have to handle now, before moving.
Currently I'm limited to notepad and confronted with my technical debts at its worst. They aged well and I exactly know, why they are there:
Date and Time simply suck in web (PHP, JS). That's it.

🤦 PSA: Number.isInteger() can *only* return true for actual numbers. Feed it any other type, and it is guaranteed to return false. This wasteful pattern is only reproduced by clankers and the incompetent. Do better.

Why use yield* in #JavaScript generators and not just loop over inner Iterables? Because yield* also delegates incoming errors back to the source, so the errors can be handled where they came from. You would rather not shoot the messenger, right?
