I retire at the end of this month.
While I will still be travelling regularly, I will definitely not miss the delays and cancellations that have effected my work over the last three years. The 05.17 out again today, because the train wasn't ready in time. Travelling in on the 05.45, with my plans for the day messed up yet again.
And those who carry on working can look forward to massive delays soon, as the Hamburg-Hannover line is repaired and updated.
Just finished a final edit of my wife's Life Story Book she wrote on Storyworth called "Forever and Then Some."
It is a huge piece of work, like 50 chapters (stories). Illustrated with tons of photos, it is a great look at the life of someone I know well.
But there were a few surprises I did not see coming (not about me thank God, I am far too predictable).
One thing is she does not care if anyone reads it. Sons bought hard copies, we will end up with a PDF version.
I'm sorting through old papers, papers, papers, prints, papers, and tossing out lots of stuff. Found some old print blocks and this lino print from around 1990. Much of my old stuff is simply bad, but I still like the animated gown of the lion figure and the humanoid lizard on the right. Also, I have no memory at all of making this, and the print block is gone. What a strange life sometimes.

I'm at the launderette. It's really busy. A dryer finished so someone emptied it to use the dryer, the person who owns the clothes isn't here though. 3 ladies are chatting and folding the clothes. No one knows each other. It's all rather lovely.
Who knew that sitting in the launderette showed you a sweet side of life.
Also there's a man here unsure how to do the wash, he asked me for help, and promised he wasn't a weirdo. He's not a weirdo and now lots of the women are helping him too.

Some ppl live empty lives and die horrible deaths... When I think about it, I can only think of how lucky I am to have such a colorful life, with ultra high ups, and abyss-low lows... I'm very grateful for that to whoever listens. It's all because of you. Random strangers, becoming much more than strangers for a while until you disappear in time and my life changes again. C'est la vie. It's all so beautiful.
