B.Choppr is sound manipulation #LV2 plugin to produce techno style-like chopping effects. And there's a new release:
I haven't tried it yet, but I just found out, it finally has arrived! I have been waiting for this…
🧵 The #automixer #plugin for #Linux!
For those who don't know, automixer is a circuit invented by a guy named #DanDugan. (Today: an algorithm.)
Basically it is a tool that compares all mic channels to all other mic channels. In effect, lowers mics not in use. When multiple mics are used, it averages their levels – very quickly.
Most good digital mixing consoles have a built-in automixer these days, such as the #AMM by #AllenAndHeath. I use it all the time when live-mixing dialogue. Especially with headset omni mics, this isn't a handy tool, it's a live-(sound-)savior. (I once used it on 16 open omni mics, would have been a feedback orgy otherwise.)
If you quickly need to mix down a multi-track recording of spoken live dialogue, this thing will save your behind.
If it works as intended, which I'll have to try.

So.....
I used to be a member of digg.com. They started it back up, and I jump at the chance to get in. For those who don't know, digg was the original of what Reddit became. I started a Linux-audio group there, and in a few days, it had grown to 60 people.
Today, I went to sign in, and found that there's been a lot of problems with digg. The've been infected with bots and are going to have to rebuild everything and try again. So, digg is gone again for now.
According to random forum post number #2 and #3, I should be able to just move over my .wine folder to the new computer, and all my windows plugins should run, without me installing them again.
Of course this got me curious, so I'm moving over my folder to test this (it's slower than just installing, but more fun).
But how can a wine-folder containing nothing but Ableton and a bunch of audio plugins contain 399.395 files?
How to clock-sync a delay #plugin in #Carla using #MIDI clock on #UbuntuStudio #Linux?
I have a DIY hardware MIDI clock feeding all kinds of stuff, including my PC of needed. Yet Jack Midi does not seem to route MIDI clock messages at all.
So I need something to sync my Jack transport to MIDI clock.
So there's this guy on YouTube who claims to have solved the issue by writing midi-clock-jack-bridge “using AI”: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Covwhqap27c
Here's his (?) code… https://github.com/ariel10aguero/midi-clock-jack-bridge
Okay, there's some compiler warnings, but it seems to do the job. I can use my #Tal #DubX #Delay and sync to plugin host, which translates to Jack transport, which is sync'ed to #MidiClock from an USB MIDI input.
Now I'm actually experimenting feeding #DecentSampler with #VenusTheory samples from my bass which has a #RolandGK3 #MidiPickup system (I got one of the rare GI-20 units).
EDIT: I fooled myself completely. While this looks good, it DOES NOT SYNC the tempo of my delay. See 🧵.
There are several open sampler formats. By open, I don't mean open source, but rather, that that the specs are open so that users can create tools to work with the formats. For example, Jürgen Moßgraber's priceless open source tool: ConvertWithMoss

I have put together a set of instructions for configuring/tuning Fedora Workstation for low latency audio work. The instructions are not original—everything comes from other sources smarter than me. But to my knowledge, it is the most complete set of instructions for Fedora Workstation users available today. If anyone is interested, the instructions can be found here:

Wasn't there a Fediverse Bluesky bridge somewhere for Mastodon?
I'd like to follow this account from Mastodon:

Working on a new plugin, can you see where the inspiration for this one comes from?
Music school in #HunterdonCounty #NJ. Joined other sites out of necessity for advertising purposes. Here by choice for real conversations and will keep the self-promotion to a minimum. Mainly looking to connect with people who share common interests: #guitar #piano #banjo #ukulele #bass #synthesizers #LinuxAudio #CleanAir
AudioDamage AD061 Descent won't let me off the hook.
It's a granular delay/reverb #plugin that is a lot of fun. However, I now found out that what I'd like to have is something that is more related to the granular delay in my beloved #Soma #Cosmos “Drifting Memory Station”.
The big deep bass #drone to rule them all, with sparkling mid-high freq stars!
So, adding to yesterday's video, I added a stereo auto panner and a looper. The #Guitarix looper isn't that great to use, for real fun I'd need to get my AKAI button controller to interact.
It's the first time I am considering taking a PC-based setup on stage one fine day. The sound is just too great…
I usually use a simple Mooer RedTruck for playing fretless bass live, but in comparison to the FX by TC and the Eden WTDI + Descent plugin, it sounds cheap.

Hey there #LinuxAudio #Pipewire #ProAudio #Production peeps. Can anyone point me in the right direction to get #qpwgraph to hold on to the names I give my hardware interface ports please?
I can rename them ok, but when I close #Reaper they just go back to 'Capture_AUX0' (etc). I've saved the patchbay but when I reload Reaper they stay default.
Confident that this is user error as this seems like basic functionality, just not sure where to look (is it something to do with 'exclusive'?)
I just released the the version 1.0.0 of B.Vibratr, a "flavoured" vibrato as an instrument. Or simply call it an absolutely overdesigned vibrato effect plugin. Features:
* Put a vibrato effect on everything you want
* Control vibrato by playing like an instrument (MIDI notes)
* Describe vibrato using oscillators and/or wavetables
* Modulate vibrato using FM, PM, or AM to add texture
It's my first #LV2 plugin after a break of some 4 years.
I really wish there was a flatpak for the neutral note plugin so I could use it in #reaperdaw or #bitwig
One of the things I didn't like in Ableton, was the lack of a proper mixerview. That was part of why I kept using Studio One on my Mac. Great mixerview!
Really didn't think I would like the Bitwig mixerview just as much, but I do.
Device Panel always felt wrong, I think it comes from growing up with an analog mixer in my hands. So I need this view. The meters, the plugins, sends, faders etc... all in the same screen.
How do you mix?

I have been spending some time making a lot of Windows Audio Plugins work on my Linux laptop, running CachyOS.
It took some time finding the approach giving me the most stable solution, without needing too much setup. To me the answer was wine-cachyos and Yabridge.
I have tried to collect all my notes and experiences in a blogpost, in case others are searching for a solution.
Here it is: https://mortenmosgaard.dk/run-windows-plugins-on-linux-using-yabridge/
(Resharing from the other night)
I might want to get the TAL EQ: “This plugin always runs with zero latency without oversampling and emulates the frequency response of analog equalizers. The topology-preserving filter remains stable even with fast dynamic modulations and is optimized for CPU efficiency.”
I have chosen to rely on software monitoring, so right now I prioritize CPU efficiency over anything else. Getting a workhorse digital EQ, would fit nicely in my low latency toolbox.

While writing my blogpost about setting CachyOS up for Music production, it hits me, that I don't really know what wireplummer do.
Why do I install it?
I just added a new #linuxaudio #plugin to my wishlist:
Entanglement, by Dillon Bastan.
https://dillonbastan.com/store/plugin/index.php?product=entanglement-plugin
In the demo, the #instrument seems versatile, creative and fun. 😎
Meanwhile, I'm still heavily involved with @loveyoumore, where we started selling #icecream again yesterday, so I hardly have any time to #makemusic at the moment.
Nevertheless, I try to spend a few minutes here and there on @linuxaudiodevelopment whenever I can. 😇
I hope you're all doing well! 🤗
