Warum habe ich nicht schon früher auf #VSCodium gewechselt? Diesen ganzen eingebauten Dreck von #Microslop will ich nicht haben. Wenn ich nicht den CoPilot nutzen will und die Extension deinstallieren, nervt mich die IDE weiterhin, dass ich CoPilot installieren soll.

Either #MicroSlop is running out of money (which is unlikely) or they are not making enough money and are deluding themselves thinking that the #enshittification of free copilot services for students will result in millions of students running to them with money in their mouth. From my point of view this can be instead a great boost for academic institution to start running locally on-prem LLM chatbots in a sovereign environment. Only time will tell.

Windows Server 2025 LTSC Desktop would be a solid operating system over Windows 11.

No #microslop shop, no bloat. Simple to the point.

Of course consumers want some fluff, but that is the easy part. The hard part for Microsoft is removing the slop layers now, because the system is broken due MS naive use of AI.

* Login issues

If you have the drivers, can get WinGet to work and install your tools, MS Server is always the better choice.

Choosing alternatives to #bigTech made me realise how uncomfortable people are with change. They get confused when the UI is different, and think it looks old and difficult.

I talk to people who try to move away from #Google, #Meta or #Microslop but fail because the friction is too great.

The ability to learn and adapt to new Software is a skill. The better we get at it, the more we future-proof ourselves against #enshittification.

Wer nach dem letzten #microsoft #windows11 Update plötzlich kein funktionierendes #wsl mehr hat, der gehe ins Terminal unter Adminrechten und gibt: "bcdedit /set hypervisorlaunchtype auto" ein. Nach einem Neustart läuft es dann wieder. Die Zeiten, wo ich den verdammten Arschmaden aus Redmond die Klöten abreissen möchte, kommen immer näher. Aber ich arbeite schon am Ersatz. Deswegen nutze ich ja das WSL . Wenn ich meine ganzen Sachen, welche momentan nur unter Win laufen, so hinbekommen habe, dass sie unter Linux in einer qemu VM inkl. USB laufen, ist bei mir nach fast 40 Jahren das Thema #Microslop abgeschlossen.

Office 365 and Linux – trying to use Linux when your organization is all in and locked down with Microsoft

The problem - my employer is all in on Microsoft 365. They have flipped the admin switches that mean email can only be checked via Outlook (or Apple Mail, because executives like Apple, I assume).
