Wie funktioniert das mit Benutzern, Gruppen und Dateirechten in der Nextcloud? Dieser Artikel erklärt es einfach und anschaulich. Nur echt mit einem Ralf-Rant.

Alrighty, everything set up for the #GNOME showcase at the hardware bazaar meetup later. A GNOME OS laptop, a #phosh tablet and phone, all connected with each other via #p2panda (via Reflection as a demo), #Nextcloud (calendar, contacts, files) and #Valent/KDE Connect (notifications, clipboard etc.) :)
In den letzten Tagen habe ich mehrere Stunden mit #confer.to (laut eigener Aussage encrypted ki, keine Weitergabe der Gespräche, kein Training..) verbracht um herauszufinden warum #nextcloud #office nicht mehr funktioniert. Es wurde alles auseinandergenommen. (Es fehlte nur noch den #raspi aufzuschrauben und Kontakte umzulöten). Immer waren wir kurz vor der Lösung...Nichts hat geholfen.
Ich hab dann mal am nächsten Tag in der Allow list for WOPI requests meine öffentliche IP eingegeben ( anstatt der internen IP meiner zweiten Maschine auf der nginx reverse Proxy läuft, anstatt der domain, die auf meine nextcloud zeigt).
Und was soll ich sagen? Es funktioniert einfach.
Ich will nicht wissen, wieviele kleine hocheffiziente Atomkraftwerke jetzt wegen meines Verbrauchs gebaut werden. 🫣

Für den #diday versuche gerade meine Musik-Bibliothek auf #nextcloud umzuziehen. Hat mit den ersten Alben schon sehr gut funktioniert.
#nextcloud kann Flac-Dateien nativ abspielen. Für #IOS hab ich mal #cloudbeats ausprobiert. Es gibt eine kostenlose Variante und eine Version mit Einmalkauf und mehr Features. Das funktioniert deutlich reibungsloser als ich gedacht habe. Wer noch viel in der #apple mediathek hat, kann #musik und sogar #podcast s darüber hören.

Mir fehlte noch eine App, mit der ich auf mein #grapheneos meine Termine synchronisieren kann. Nutze den Kalender von #nextcloud.
Mit Fossify Kalender hat es auf anhieb wunderbar funktioniert 
Praktisch ist auch die untere flache Leiste, wenn man mehrere Kalender nutzt

#bazzite woes continues.
I have installed #Nextcloud client from #flatpak. It's all fine, but it lacks integration with file manager Dolphin (things like share options from RMB menu).
I guess that requires installing nextcloud-client-dolphin using rpm-ostree.

New #macOS and almost no app gets the border radii right. Meanwhile #Nextcloud just casually matches them perfectly. Must be a coincidence. Not quite perfect though — no squircles.
Bsi dem was gerade so passiert, überlege ich mir, ob es vielleicht sinnvoller ist irgendwo was anzumieten und ne eigene #nextcloud usw. Zu betreiben.

That's a plugin that links your #roundcubemail to your #nextcloud, allowing you to save attachments to your cloud, or attach files from it.
The code is messy, the Roundcube's plugin API not so great, but it works for me.
One more project to maintain. That's one too much, so if you encounter a bug and are able to fix it, pull requests are welcome!

Why is it the #Nextcloud hardly ever updates all the applications? If it says e.g. 6 to update and I press update all, it updates only 1-2, and stops there and the button needs to be pressed at least once again. Is it some php execution time issue?

Vor ein paar Monaten ersetzte ich #NextCloud durch #OpenCloud.
Ich nutze es selbst-gehostet auf einem Raspberry Pi. OpenCloud ist spürbar schneller und wirkt solider.
Für File-Storage/Share eigentlich besser.
Aber es gibt auch Probleme.
Das größte: wenn ich auf dem Rechner (Linux) Files lösche, werden die teils neu vom Server nachgeladen, statt sie auch auf dem Server zu löschen.

Wie heeft er verstand van #Nextcloud en weet hoe ik dit in moet stellen?
Krijg deze melding over Server ID sinds Nextcloud versie 33.

Vandaag kwam Corno Vromans van @SURF langs bij @Logius tijdens de #hackathon #opensource community op practice om een inspirerende presentatie te geven over hoe SURF #nextcloud gaat aanbieden bij hun leden en welke lessen zij hieruit leren.
Ook @Gina was aanwezig die aanvullingen mee gaf over #mijnbureau

#Mastodon est cool en 960*1440 (moitié de mon écran). Je ne vais surfer plus qu’en ce « mode tablette » sur mon desktop. L’autre partie de mon (mono) écran sera pour les marque-pages que j’ai pris le temps de bien organiser (dossiers hiérarchiques) plutôt que les tags #Firefox qui sont puissants, certes, mais qui n’existent que chez Mozilla. Pomalu budeme se seriálem SelfHosting a HomeServer končit — začíná to být docela hotové.
Teď se chci vrhnout na plné používání serveru, postupné rušení předplatných u Google a Apple a celkový přechod k větší digitální soběstačnosti.
Dnešní upgrade den 🧰
Server dostal nové disky a s tím přišlo pár změn:
• Immich knihovna → vlastní HDD
• Nextcloud data → samostatný disk
• SSD pro systém a zálohy zůstávají oddělené
• zapnutý weekly TRIM
• SMART monitoring všech disků
A taky jsem vylepšil vlastní `server-check` skript.
Teď stačí v terminálu napsat `sc` a během pár sekund vidím:
• stav záloh
• teploty CPU/NVMe
• využití všech disků
• SMART zdraví SSD/HDD
• RAM a load
• DNS + HTTPS konektivitu
• běh služeb (mastodon, nginx, php, immich…)
• fail2ban jaily
• dostupnost LibreTranslate, Nextcloud a Immich
Malý domácí health-check dashboard přímo v CLI. 😀

Sag ich seit Jahren. Im Vergleich zu #owncloud Infinite Scale #ocis oder #opencloud schneidet #nextcloud ganz schlecht ab. Aber gut, dass es das Windows der #opensource welt gibt, dadurch kommen viel in Kontakt mit #linux und #OSS. Aber es ginge so viel besser.

Ich baue aktuell sukzessive meine #Nextcloud aus (kollaboratives Whiteboard, Videokonferenz mit High-Performance-Backend, Nextcloud Office mit dediziertem Core Server) und es ist wirklich nice, dabei von keinem großen Infrastruktur Anbieter abhängig zu sein (Ausnahme ist Hetzner als mein Root Hoster). Hat irgendwer noch coole Sachen, die man in Nextcloud machen kann?
