https://ctxt.es/es/20160504/Politica/5786/refugiados-William-Shakespeare-manuscrito-Tomas-Moro.htm
en "The Late Show With #StephenColbert"

I find #Shakespeare speeches hard to follow, even after speaking English every day, all day, for almost 20 years. But this speech is worth the effort.
did anyone want to hear a #Shakespeare speech castigating nativist cruelty against #immigration?
of course such a speech exists: bigoted malice against #immigrants is not new. the wicked have long yoked the ignorant and indecent for power
it refers to a real event: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Evil_May_Day
it is called "The Strangers' Case" speech
from the play "Sir Thomas More"
here delivered by #IanMcKellen from memory
on "The Late Show With #StephenColbert"
I’m a #musicologist and #medievalist, an early morning writer and a regular woods-walker, and a generalist in the classroom (#Shakespeare; #pandemics). I research women’s monastic communities, especially their libraries. I’m currently focused on the Tertiaries of Thalbach in #Bregenz, Austria, with a side-tour to the #chaplains of the city. I’ve published on women as scribes and on historiography, but a lot of my current engagement is with German prayer-books.
