Hey! Good news everyone! The #SupremeCourt, by declining to overrule the #Copyright Office, has declared that #AI art cannot be copyrighted.
It's bigger than just Thaler's case though. (links below) What this means is that NO AI created work can be copyrighted. Not code, not verbiage, not art, not anything.
Only human created works are eligible for copyright, so sayeth the High Court.

The US Supreme Court decision to let people go hungry shows clearly with whom they're siding. Historically speaking, when the courts back an authoritarian, it's all over folks. "No kings" parades are a useless act in that case. It requires something a lot more dramatic to get rid of a dictatorship.

In Amerigold Holdings v. Baker, decided on August 8, the #Alaska #SupremeCourt considered an allegation of “paper staking” in a case involving conflicting mining claims. Paper staking occurs when someone recording a mining claim lies about having actually gone and physically marked the ground with “monuments.”
The alleged paper-staker (Klutchnikov) was “lost at sea,” but Baker pursued Klutchnikov’s successor in interest, Amerigold, to bench trial and won. #law #akleg
