For example, you might want to say the word “toots”, but use the hashtag “toot”.
To do this, place a U+2060 WORD JOINER before the “s” in “toots”. Example: #toots.
If you're using #X11 or #Wayland (i.e. #Linux or #BSD desktop), you can add the following line to ~/.XCompose to give yourself a keyboard shortcut:

Then just type Compose, then W, then J.

I don't know if this will be appreciated or obnoxious but here's the #Bash script I used to #toot a LOT of things in a single thread.
The script can do listed or unlisted replies, with or without content warnings.
But does require the #toot #Python package from #pip

Looking for testers for a new Mastodon TUI.
tooi is a re-implementation of the TUI included with toot, using a more modern framework which is easier to work with. It supports most features `toot tui` does, and some new ones too.
tooi is set to replace `toot tui` which has proven to be troublesome to support and extend.

J’aime apprendre tous les jours et pour cette raison j’aime les logiciels libres. Mes OS préférés sont #FreeBSD et #ArchLinux. J’aime bidouiller mes PCs. J’adore le sport et particulièrement la #natation et le #PSG. Niveau musique je suis ouvert, même si mon style préféré reste le #rock au sens large.

Als Letztes bereitet mir gerade #Mastodon heftige Probleme. Da #tut nicht bei #Debian existiert (das ext. Repo kenne ich), habe ich #Tuba probiert. Gruselig. Dann in #qutebrowser und #epiphany - nicht praktikabel, besonders letzterer lässt den PC bis zum Anschlag hochdrehen. Bleibt nur #toot 🤔
Unbefriedigend.
Neben #Mona7 probiere ich jetzt mal wieder #IceCubes aus. Das letzte mal ist schon einige Jahre und die App scheint deutlich besser geworden zu sein. #Toot ist irgendwie immer noch...hm...Toot eben.
