If we join #upscrolled in a few months instead of right now, the #moderation team will have had more time to develop, the #trolls will have gotten bored and left, and the #growth will be sustained beyond the initial #buzz phase.
Courrier international – Le succès de #French #Response, le compte #X du #Quai d’ #Orsay qui lutte contre les #trolls
The great thing about my experience on Mastodon is that trolling from people/bots habituated to the far right X mentality stands out as really odd.
Before I dumped X, several years ago, it was such a norm to get baiting, trolling snipey comments. The platform was an unhealthy sewer for the brain. Moving to Mastodon was like airing the room at last and getting fresh mountain air.
So if that kind of message arrives now, it gets identified immediately for the sewer rat rubbish it is, and I know there is zero point in engaging with it beyond an initial correction only for other readers and myself. This is exactly how I relate to the dark personality disorders when I encounter them in real life. I know there is zero point in trying to engage or reason with them. They feed on others making that waste of energy, bid to be understood, and any angst they cause.
Rigid boundaries and disengagement are the best way.
