Good morning Fedi friends & what a lovely cool morning it is at 12c. Still pretty dark when I got up but the sky was starting to lighten. Heading to a sunny 31c today - so warm again. I’m charging the whipper snipper battery because I’m going to be mowing today & it certainly needs it - again!
It was a full day yesterday. I was out of the door before 8.30am to meet up with my former Vinnies colleagues & for once all 8 of us were there which was lovely. Much laughing & talking as we haven’t got together like this since before Christmas.
Once I got home I made an effort & sorted out the little back garden that suffered first from the heat & then from the flooding. It’s looking a lot better, but needs more soil in the lower part of it. I planted the last Crepe Myrtle, the dwarf one in the raised part of that garden. I’ll get more soil next week to finish it & some plants. Then cleaned up & went to Barnawartha to go to the local school fair. By the time we got there all the produce, cakes, slices etc were sold. Still the girls had fun on the blow up slide & the face painting. It’s a really lovely little school.

Drove passed my cousin's house this morning as I was in the neighborhood.
Darn lawn needs mowing bad!
Went back home, ate lunch, then pulled the trailer and mower back and mowed his lawn.
An hour driving for a 6 minute mowing job!

Weekend plans, friends? I just got back from taking Dad shopping and am about to have a late tea.
My own weekend plans include planting out collard seedlings and starting some kale seeds on the window sill. It's probably cool enough for them to be planted outside but I have more control over the environment if I have them inside. Also I'm less likely to forget to water them (like that ever happens, ahahaha).
I need to repot some indoor plants, too. Kid1's friend was telling Kid1 how bizarre it is to have plants inside our house (he grew up in a different culture but also maybe just a different.... house? Because I reckon houseplants are not just a Western thing? Or are they?! Now I'm wondering.)
I've got to run at least one Kid to work tomorrow and do a bunch of washing. Might swing by the markets while I'm in town. Meant to catch up for coffee with a friend but our schedules clash so we'll do another time. I need to bake and hopefully there'll be a trip to the beach at some point. And ooh, some more mulching.
So I guess the weekend will be mostly plants? I feel very compelled to have my hands in the dirt a LOT, so that's telling me something

OK..news from the "involuntary admin" front.
Infos I had from my partners mother:
"I can do nothing on my laptop any more. There's always a message 'no permission' when I try X or Y. And it said deleting cookies may help so I tried. But something went wrong and I was afraid to continue"
What I saw when I checked the laptop:
- Firefox icon in task bar and desktop blank
- Chrome icon in task bar and desktop blank
- Virus scanner icon in task bar and desktop blank
- All 3 programs didn't start although OS said they are installed
What they saw in my face:
"How the bloody hell..... wtf.. ??"
It took me 50 minutes to reinstall the 3 programs on her 2 core 4GB Win8.1 machine while the 5400rpm HDD swapped for its life.
And another 20 minutes to make her Gmail account accessible again without her remembering the password and not having a recovery mail set.
You know.. Time is my most precious resource. And just because someone doesn't care about how long a laptop needs to start a webbrowser because he/she can do the dishes in the meantime and therefore don't wants to buy new hardware doesn't mean that I feel the same while fixing other peoples problems.
So..to all customers of FamilyAdmin Inc. who might read this:
